CHE COSA E’ L’ARTE?
Ognuno di noi darebbe una risposta diversa a questa domanda. Ernst Gombrich scrisse: “Non esiste in realtà l’arte, esistono solo gli artisti”.
La mia ricerca artistica è iniziata da questa idea: approfondire le vite dei grandi maestri che hanno lasciato un segno nella storia, attraverso biografie, documenti storici e fonti scientifiche, il tutto affiancato visitando pinacoteche, chiese ecc. Ho poi iniziato a riprodurre una prima tela di Caravaggio, con l’intenzione di esplorare a fondo la tecnica, analizzando ogni sfumatura e pennellata. A questo primo lavoro ne sono susseguiti altri nel corso degli anni. Questo processo mi ha permesso di sviluppare una tecnica solida.
Per la realizzazione delle mie opere utilizzo solamente materiali di prima qualità, lino per la tela e colori ad olio fatti a mano.
WHAT IS ART?
Each of us would answer this question differently. As Ernst Gombrich wrote:
“There really is no such thing as Art. There are only artists.”
My artistic research began with this idea: a close study of the lives of the great masters who have left their mark on history, through biographies, historical documents, and academic research, combined with countless visits to museums, churches, and galleries.
I then reproduced my first painting by Caravaggio, with the intention of exploring his technique in depth and analysing every nuance and brushstroke. That first work was followed by many more over the years. Through this process, I developed a solid painting technique.
For my paintings, I use only the highest-quality materials: linen canvases and handmade oil paints.
